Read & Errington were founded in August 1996 by Martin Read, Alan Errington and Graham Read, with a total workforce of six. Over the past 17 years, the Company has followed a continuous path of steady and controlled growth. Read & Errington now employ approximately 50 staff, of which 15 have come through the Company’s apprentice training scheme. In 2006 Adam Farrar, himself a former trainee, joined the board of Directors and in 2012 both Graham Read and Alan Errington retired from the board but are still involved within the business. We have been at the forefront of energy efficiency in our area, promoting condensing boilers and energy efficient controls and work closely with the Energy Savings Trust. In addition to our substantial private clientele, our customer base has grown to include Local Authorities, Housing Association, Private Letting Agents, PLC’s and Response Maintenance Management Companies. Specifically, one of our major clients is responsive maintenance of gas, heating and hot water for Blackpool Coastal Housing.

Health & Safety
A safe and healthy working environment is something that we actively promote within the culture of Read & Errington. Our own safety advisor ensures that our employees and clients are working together to achieve this safe work arena.We are continually updating and improving our health & safety systems and procedures in order to maintain our high standards and have one of the best health & safety track records within our industry.
Environment & Recycling
Read & Errington care passionately about the environment and we continue to make improvements in our environmental and recycling performance. Besides promoting and pursuing efficient ways to heat buildings. We have made various steps to reduce waste and improve our own company carbon footprint. Some of these initiatives include:-
Generation of our own electricity utilising solar photovoltaic’s at our company office.
Installing low energy LED lighting at our office.
Using smart vehicle tracking to reduce fuel costs for responsive engineers.
Materials such as cardboard, polythene soft plastics and bulky polystyrene are sent to a Blackpool to be recycled.
Recycling of waste metal.
